2012
Jayson Red Wine Napa Valley
Infinitely satisfying, the 2012 Jayson Red is rich garnet in color with a sparkling ruby edge. Brilliant notes of red and blue berries leap from the glass, accompanied by a hint of warm dust. Ripe raspberry flavors swirl with Bing cherry coat the mouth, while layers of dark chocolate cherry, bittersweet cocoa nibs, earthy minerality, a touch of spicy graham flour and suggestion of sweet cedar hold the seconds captive on the lingering finish.

Winemaking Notes
The grape clusters were hand-sorted and de-stemmed, and individual berries selected by our winemaking team. After seven to fifteen days of a gentle cold soak in small open-top fermentors, the fruit began 100% native yeast fermentation. After two to three weeks, the fruit was gently pressed and the juice was moved to barrel where it finished primary and malolactic fermentation, also native. The wine continued to age in 50% new French oak Bordeaux barrels for eighteen months. The wine was bottled unfined and minimally filtered.
Pure, rich and persistent, with a vivid core of blackberry, espresso, vanilla bean and dried herb notes. Ends with an elegant aftertaste.
