Upper Range is a unique site perched on the ridge line above Rutherford. Planted with the intensity of mountain farming in mind, the row orientations are meticulously designed so that the sun tracks directly over the top of the vines at the peak of ripening, eliminating a traditional morning/afternoon side exposure. The shoots are trained in perfect V formation, creating the perfect setup for dappled light. We source four contiguous ridge line blocks in Upper Range, the fruit contributing savory complexity and intensely developed tannins.
